It’s All About the Pride of the Shirt — #4. Burnley (Away)
By: Nick | March 9th, 2007
It’s not simply the ’shirt of the week’ it’s the ‘award winning shirt of the week’. And what a nice shirt it is too - even though it looks a little bit ‘Rugby League’ in all honesty.
Burnley haven’t won away from home since the last day of October - so perhaps this is a nice omen that will inspire them to victory over opponents with vastly inferior away shirts of their own. You should take inspiration wherever you can get it.
The shirt was lauded for its “good use of colour and innovative use of the Claret chest band to create a striking design”. I won’t argue with that.
If I were a professional footballer (instead of useless at football) it would be quite nice to have some input into what I’d be wearing in front of thousands of people. Here’s some who probably didn’t.
“Steve Cotterill wanted something very distinctive and the players certainly feel that the kit is emblematic” - I’d have to agree.

Ergh, I don’t much like that one.
