It’s All About the Pride of the Shirt — #5. Norwich City
By: Nick | March 16th, 2007
I get the feeling that some designer at Xarra (who they?) was given a little too much freedom with this year’s Norwich shirt design - as witnessed by the over use of green. It just seems a little too busy.
As you’d expect, ‘The Canaries’ are famous for their bright yellow shirts - but it’s not the easiest color for the fan to make look good down the pub
I was a little saddened to see they’ve switched to the same sponsor as Birmingham City and Southampton - for some reason it really irks me when clubs share the same shirt sponsor. Think Arsenal, Hamburg and PSG (but at least they’re not in the same country, let alone the same league). Also, it’s a tight fitting design, causing the players to look a bit too ‘Rugby-esque’ for my personal taste.
If only Norwich had kept their relationship with Coleman’s mustard - for they bore a rather amusing resemblance to eleven jars of English mustard running around a football pitch. Here are some more examples of Norwich shirt design.
