Bloodied Brentford Bring In Butcher
By: Nick | April 24th, 2007
Fans of one of London’s less glamorous clubs, Brentford, have been down in the dumps after recent relegation to League Two — but their mood should be slightly buoyed today with the arrival of England legend Terry Butcher to the Bees’ helm. And, as you can see from the picture, Butcher usually brings one hundred percent to the cause.
After spending a year with Sydney FC not exactly ingratiating himself to actor Anthony La Paglia during an often stormy season down under — I’m sure Butcher is happy to be back home.
He did an excellent job at Motherwell in the SPL, before the slight bump in the road in Sydney. I think League Two will suit his direct style quite well. He’s also a decent radio pundit for the BBC, so I’m sure that helped his decision to manage a London club.
In the future, he can focus on training with Fairtrade footballs.
