Football League Ground of the Week - Darlington’s 96.6 TFM Arena

Yes — it’s actually called the 96.6 TFM Arena. But that’s not the strangest thing about it. Opened in 2003, it was the brain child of George Reynolds - former safe breaker, former chipboard kitchen tycoon and now former Chairman of Darlington Football Club.

It was built to seat 25,000 as part of an ambitious dream of future Premiership football at Darlington. Their average attendance right now in League Two is 3,803. That would be someway short of a sellout then…
