Football League Weekend - Four to Sneak a Peak at…
By: Nick | March 2nd, 2007
West Brom vs. Sunderland
It’s third against fourth in a meeting of two of the Championships form teams. West Brom will look to bounce back after it’s disappointing FA Cup exit on Tuesday - whereas Roy Keane’s Sunderland have truly hit their stride lately.
Birmingham City vs. Cardiff City
This time it’s second against sixth in the superbly close Championship race. Cardiff have recovered well after a mid-season blip saw them almost blow their excellent start - thanks to Michael Chopra - the first player of Indian descent to have played Premiership football. Birmingham keep going along despite an apathetic fan base - only too quick to round on manager Steve Bruce for some inexplicable reason.
Rotherham Utd vs. Bradford City
You have to feel slightly sorry for Rotherham - they were practically doomed from the start. A ten points deduction before they’d even kicked a ball is proving too tough to overcome - they’re rooted to League One’s cellar, eight points adrift. A win over twentieth placed Bradford might give them a small life line.
Stockport County vs. Swindon Town
Sixth placed Stockport bring an impressive eight game winning streak into this match - having not conceded a goal during that time. Third placed Swindon will be looking to continue their fine season - all the more fine since early season quitter Dennis Wise isn’t looking too convincing at Leeds.
