Managing Notts County is Rarely a Laughing Matter

When the club you agree to manage has sacked 35 managers since 1945 and 12 since 1991 - you probably shouldn’t get too comfortable in your office.
Coupled with the ignominious fact that you are also steering the ‘worst football team to follow‘ - you might want to skip setting up an office completely, and just work from home. A home that you should probably rent and not buy.
But Steve Thompson, the man who willingly accepted the job of Notts County manager is about to end his second year in charge - and should be safe for the time being at least. But he probably shouldn’t buy property in Nottingham just yet.
