Torquay’s New Manager Lasts in the Job for Slightly Longer Than it Takes to Boil an Egg
By: Nick | May 20th, 2007
Football management can be a cruel career sometimes, with many club chairmen quick to usher the exit to any boss not delivering the desired results. So spare a thought for poor Leroy Rosenior at Torquay United, who was unfortunate to be sacked a mere 10 minutes after being unveiled as the new manager of the club that recently lost their Football League status.
At his first press conference in the job, Rosenior displayed some quite impressive clairvoyant ability, saying:
“If somebody comes in and buys the club and wants to get rid of me, then so be it, that’s life, and Ill accept that. But while I’m here and the incumbent of this job, I’ll do it to the best of my ability and get a team out that’s competitive”. Spooky stuff indeed.
Sadly he barely had time to sit in his office, let alone get a team out.
