Burnley Bring in the Gray Sweat Pants! (and Gabor Kiraly to Fill ‘Em)
By: Nick | May 30th, 2007
Local clothing shops can expect a surge in the sale of gray sweat pants, after Burnley have announced the signing of such a pair of pants Hungarian keeper Gabor Kiraly to aid the push to the Premier League.
It’s alleged to be a free transfer, but my mole in Burnley has confirmed to me that Kiraly demanded on a lucrative clause in his contract, insisting the club provide a brand new pair of clean gray sweat pants for every match. Even if he’s on the subs bench. I’d guess a pair goes for around a tenner at the local market, so over a season the savings could add up for the 31 year old shot stopper.
In a related story, the Burnley kit cleaner was last night admitted to a local psychiatric hospital having suffered a nervous breakdown, while continually uttering the words “sweat pants” and “grass stains”. News of the “new pants” clause should come as a welcome relief then.
