Football League Ground of the Week - Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Stadium

By: Nick | April 10th, 2007

Let’s be honest, it looks more like a Football Ground than a Football Stadium - but I appreciate the effort to ’sex the place up’. It was opened in the nineteenth century, and may not have had a fresh coat of paint since. At the end of the match in the video clip there was a decent bit of player related ‘handbags‘. I just hope Birmingham manager Steve Bruce didn’t get involved - he might have broken his nose. Oh wait…

Great blog, really informative piece on Barnsley, if your watching a game why not stay in one of the many Barnsley hotels.
