It’s All About the Pride of the Shirt — #3. Hull City

By: Nick | March 6th, 2007

hull2.jpg Football has its classic colors - Liverpool’s all red, Real Madrid’s all white, Barcelona’s maroon and blue, Celtic’s white and green.

Then there’s Hull City’s orange and black combination - hardly considered synonymous with the word classic to be honest.

Don’t get me wrong though, 2007’s version is like the Mona Lisa compared to this monstrosity - yet I can’t shake the feeling that if you put a helmet on the pictured player he’d instantly resemble an extra from the movie Rollerball. Perhaps that’s the reason Hull is the largest British city to have never had a top flight football team.

It’s nice to see some good old local sponsorship - no gambling service or overseas corporation here thank you very much.
