Mike Newell Has One Outburst Too Many — May Need Surgery to Remove Foot From Mouth

Luton’s nickname might be ‘The Hatters’ but that didn’t make it acceptable for Mike Newell to have acted as mad as a hatter at times over the past year.
His bravado at going public with allegations of a ‘bung’ culture within the walls of the game - while admirable, might not have been the sanest thing to do from a political stand point (which he might now sense as he hits the job market).
Then he had a right pop at female participation within the game - displaying an attitude that would make a caveman blush. He barely got away with that one it has to be said. By the way - you can find these t-shirts in a bargain bin near you.
Things certainly seemed to come to a head recently, as displayed by Newell’s personal rift with Leeds’ Dennis Wise, coupled with his assertion last week that the clubs board were to blame for Luton’s poor run as they had sold his four best players without his approval. I’m sure the writing was firmly on the wall since that point. I only hope he didn’t leave his hat behind after he cleared out his office.
