Niall Quinn Might Have to Dig Deeper into his Disco Pants’ Pockets

By: Nick | April 4th, 2007

roy.jpg It’s been a stunning turnaround for Sunderland. After a month of the season they were rock bottom and desperately searching for a manager to simply keep them from imploding.

In walks the eyebrow raising choice Roy Keane, and they haven’t looked back since. Keane’s appointment appears to have been a masterstroke by the chairman and disco pants owning legend Niall Quinn.

The eight grand Quinn forked out for 18 taxis will probably be chump change compared to the transfer fees needed to capture Keane’s rumored targets.

Keane looks to be thinking big with news that he’s interested in former Manchester United and Chelsea rejects Diego Forlan and Damien Duff. Both very good players, just not quite good enough to make a lasting mark at those clubs. Duff I can imagine as a Black Cat, but not Forlan.
