Plymouth Boss Wants the Whole World to Wear Green Pants
By: Nick | March 8th, 2007
Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Holloway is well known for his oddball persona - and his plea for anybody with a soft spot for The Pilgrims to don something green for luck, before they tackle Watford in the FA Cup - is another great example of the man’s appeal.
“I want everyone who has even half a fancy for Plymouth on Sunday to wear something green for us” announced Holloway.
Plymouth Argyle are the last Football League club alive in the FA Cup - and have a great chance to reach their first semi-final since 1984 with a win over Watford (who have one foot back in the Football League).
With the competition having been a bit drab so far - it’s very welcome to see a smaller club having the chance to achieve something they haven’t done for over twenty years. What this could mean to the fans of Argyle is one of the reasons why the FA Cup can still be quite special.

Ian Holloway is a legend. Loved the way he described his team as a ‘Village team’ after the 1-1 draw against Sheff Weds the other night.
