Sheffield United Fans Have Very Little to Smile About Right Now
By: Nick | May 21st, 2007
Still coming to terms with their agonizing last day relegation out of the Premier League (and future appearance in this Championship blog), Blades followers now have to cope with the depressing news that the club’s new boss is one of the worst managers of all time.
Was a curse put on Sheffield United recently? After a decent start to the season, things quickly headed south, culminating with the shock relegation and it’s unjust feel thanks to the Carlos Tevez saga.
Then, the old boss jumps ship before the fans tears have had time to dry — then they hire Bryan Robson and his checkered past.
Not only that, but Robson’s number two will be Brian Kidd, the somewhat less than successful former manager of Blackburn.
Monty Python’s “Life of Brian” was a comedy classic — suffering Sheffield United fans will wonder if their “Life of Brian’s” might end up as a horror movie.

They couldn’t do any better than Bryan Robson? They deserve their relegation.

It does seem like a very strange choice.
