Southampton Fans Go Berserk as Statue of Club Legend Strangely Resembles Former Portsmouth Owner

Don’t expensively commissioned statues always look a bit rubbish and divide public opinion? Well this one at Southampton Football Club certainly does - as Saints fans are not too happy with this statue that seems bizarrely out of proportion (just click on the link to witness the stubby little legs for yourself).
They’re also understandably irked by the statues’ likeness to Milan Mandaric, the former owner of hated rival and neighbor Portsmouth - a truly regrettable result.
Portsmouth and Southampton fans have never seen eye to eye at the best of times, and with Southampton being a league below these days - it’s not good for the mood when a statue of a beloved club legend looks even remotely similar to a legend of your unpopular neighbors.
If I lived in Portsmouth I’d be tempted to drive the 17 miles to place a Pompey scarf around the statue. It’s probably already been done though.
